Is anyone homeschooling an only child?
I am, and I'm just wondering how that goes.
I have an 18 year old and a four year old, so basically, they are each like only children.
My worry with my daughter is that if I h.s. it will not be a wise thing to do.
Yes, I will keep her around other children through Brownies, 4-H, swimming class, etc.
I'm just wondering how an only child does being taught at home.

Hi there. I have to admit I came here for help on the "only child" issue. My 12 year-old son complains that it makes homeschooling and field trips boring because he has no brothers or sisters. Sorry, I couldn't help you. Leah.

I am hs my 13yo son next year. This is one of his biggest concerns that he won't be able to meet anyone or see his old school friends. He was my only for 11 years. I now have a 9 yo step son and 2 baby boys aged 1 & 2. I would like to find some other moms with son's in the same age range to do things with in our area. We are in SE Arlington. 287 & 20 area.

Felicitations, fellow home schooler of an only,
Mine is graduating this year. It is not w/o its challenges, or blessings. Training dogs & having foster Airedale Terriers in our home, helps. There are many benefits of her brothers, Larry & Dr. Pepper. Although we have been very involved in our churches, she finds her friends through a variety of places. Her closest friend attends public school & they attend Teen Community Bible Study together. Another close friend is home schooled & is a neighbor. She has the benefit of helping out in their large family. More info upon request. Just know that God will bless your desire to do what is best for your children. Consider yourself virtually hugged.
