nose picking 7 Years, 5 Months ago
Does anybody else have a child that picks his/her nose often? I've talked and talked about why God made boogies and how there are germs/dirt in them, but he still does it. Sorry this is kind of a gross topic but was hoping somebody could give me suggestions on how to curb this unpleasent habit. Thanks!

If you find an answer you can make a million. You've got to find a way to make them want to quit. It usually doesn't work with outward pressure--just like thumb sucking and fingernail biting.

Is it just me, or does it seem like it is more often boys that do this? Was there a chapter in "Bringing Up Boys" that would be applicable?

Just a thought....we don't have an full time boogy picker but... If it's gotten to the point where it is more habit than anything...try putting a bandaid on the tip of the finger. No fun putting that up your nose, eh? Good luck and fingers crossed I NEVER go down that road with my 2 boys. Sheila B/CS Smoothing the Way

A boy in my daughter's Kindermusik class does this, eats them, and the mom just sits there and allows it. What's the ettiquette here, when we have to hold his hand during circle dances??!! My daughter wondered why he does this- is he hungry?! My little girl bites he toenails, and to stop her I've put vinegar on her toes.
